Ivo Abraham is a professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, with joint appointments in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (College of Medicine – Tucson) and the Department of Clinical Translational Sciences (College of Health Sciences).

Dr. Aguilar is a graduate of University of Illinois-Chicago College of Pharmacy, and has more than 20 years of clinical pharmacy experience. Beginning her career in a large teaching hospital, Dr. Aguilar practiced both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy while providing training and mentoring to pharmacy students as a preceptor. Dr. Aguilar then joined Abbott Laboratories where she created a Global Medical Information Center for the International Division.

Dr. Alvarez facilitates learning on leader development topics and is engaged in the Leader Development Institute for the California Pharmacists Association and the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute. She also has teaching interests in pain management and palliative care. She belongs to the American Pharmacists Association, served as its 162nd president and was named a fellow for the organization. She has served as president for the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society.

Brena has been at the University of Arizona for over 6 years: as an undergrad student, a grad student, and now as a staff member. She received her Master’s degree in Educational Technology from UA’s College of Applied Science and Technology. While in grad school, she worked for the Center for Digital Humanities as a project manager and instructional designer, managing and collaborating on various digital projects surrounding cultural heritage and technology.

Dr. Armstrong is professor emeritus in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and president of Strategic Therapeutics, LLC. He obtained his BS in pharmacy from The University of Arizona and his PharmD degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Armstrong has written many articles and given numerous presentations on disease management and pharmacoeconomic applications. Dr.

Rhys Axon, PhD, MPharm, MS, MRPharmS, is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, Director of the PharmD Program, Director of the Health and Pharmaceutical Outcomes Graduate Program, and an investigator in the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics (HOPE Center) at the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. He received his Master of Pharmacy (MPharm, 2014) degree from the University of Reading (United Kingdom) and has practiced in community pharmacy.

Caitlin Cameron, PharmD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and is the curriculum director for the College of Pharmacy at the Phoenix Bioscience Core Campus.  She has experience in adult acute care and in providing pharmacy services to under-insured and uninsured patients through previous clinical work and community outreach. 

Ashley Campbell, PharmD, BCPS is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and a clinical pharmacist in internal medicine and geriatrics at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. where she coordinates the PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program.

Research

Dr. Chen’s laboratory utilizes cutting-edge technologies (e.g. single cell RNAseq, CRISPR, gene-targeting mouse models, etc.) to understand molecular pathogenesis of various lung diseases. The goal is to identify novel targets for therapy and drug development. Dr. Chen’s research has been continuously funded by the National Institute of Health as well as foundations and state departments for over 18 years.

Nathan Cherrington, PhD, ATS, associate dean for research and professor, Pharmacology and Toxicology—directs the NIEHS P30 Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center and the NIEHS T32 Training in Environmental Toxicology of Human Disease. He also serves as interim director for the College's Center for Toxicology, and holds joint appointments as professor, Clinical Translation Services and in the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona.
